Dr. Chung Lee
Dr. Chung Lee attended the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and earned a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry, a Minor in Mathematics, and Baccalaureate Education in Science and Teaching. He then attended the UNC Adams School of Dentistry to receive his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree in 2016. He further enhanced his clinical training by completing the residency program at the Fayetteville Veterans Affairs Medical Center. Dr. Lee also serves as an adjunct faculty for the AEGD residency program at the UNC Adams School of Dentistry.
Dr. Lee was born in the beautiful city of Seoul, South Korea where he spent his early childhood growing up. When he turned age ten, his parents made a life-changing decision to move to America and settled in Fayetteville, NC. Dr. Lee admits that life in the US at the beginning was difficult with him not knowing English and struggling to get along with other kids at school. Despite feeling isolated, Dr. Lee realized that when you excel in something, people will recognize even the smallest achievements. With help from caring teachers and a few good friends along the way, Dr. Lee gradually emerged from his shell. Consistency, sincerity and perseverance are characters that Dr. Lee still holds dear to his heart every day.
Dr. Lee is deeply passionate about dentistry. Today’s advancements in dental materials and technology are better than ever, allowing dental work to be more conservative, less invasive, and longer-lasting. Dr. Lee believes that it is his responsibility to stay up-to-date and provide high-quality dental care to his patients. This involves consistently keeping up with research studies, using proven dental materials, investing in continuing education, and learning from the best in the field. Pursuing fellowship in the Academy of General Dentistry, practicing biomimetic principles, and using dental microscope and cone beam imaging are a few examples of Dr. Lee’s commitment to excellence in dentistry.
Dr. Lee, his wife Meena (who is also a dentist) and their son Ryan and daughter Evelyn together reside in Cary. Dr. Lee enjoys spending quality time with his family and friends, fixing things around his house, reading, watching movies, and working out.
Dr. Meena Lee
Dr. Meena pursued her education at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where she earned a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry with a Minor in Music. Following this, she attended Nova Southeastern University College of Dental Medicine, culminating in the attainment of her Doctor of Medicine in Dentistry degree in 2019.
Originally from Seoul, South Korea, Dr. Meena’s journey led her to the United States at the age of 16, driven by a desire to explore the wider world. She ventured to Asheville, NC alone, where she pursued her high school education. Throughout her journey, she was fortunate to receive unwavering support and kindness from her host families, friends, and teachers, reminding her that her achievements were the result of collective efforts rather than her solo endeavors. This deep sense of gratitude and a desire to give back to the community and society continue to motivate her.
Dr. Meena derives immense satisfaction from bringing smiles to her patients’ faces. Engaging in conversations, attentively listening to their needs, and addressing those needs with utmost care constitute her approach. The heartfelt expressions of gratitude from her patients brighten her day, affirming the impact she has on their lives. Her treatment philosophy centers on preserving as much natural tooth structure as possible while closely imitating the tooth’s inherent form and function. This commitment to excellence drives her to continually expand her knowledge in dentistry, attending seminars, staying updated with research, and mastering novel techniques and materials to provide optimal dental care.
Outside of her professional pursuits, Dr. Meena cherishes moments spent with her family and friends. Her current chapter involves nurturing her energetic toddler son, Ryan, and her beautiful newborn daughter, Evelyn. She seizes the opportunity to savor various cuisines, travel to new destinations, and engage in outdoor activities during pleasant weather, embracing life’s diverse experiences.
