Praus Dentistry employs state-of-the-art technologies to ensure accuracy, efficiency, and comfort. Our dental equipment is safe, effective, and well-maintained. Some of our dental technologies include those listed below:
Low Dose Digital X-Rays
Our advanced digital x-rays magnify and enhance your teeth for better diagnosis and treatment. This technology allows us to take images of your teeth and display them on a computer screen quickly and easily.
With digital x-rays, we can view your teeth and surrounding structures with remarkable accuracy. These images provide the information we need to plan your dental treatment.
Digital x-rays require much less radiation than traditional film x-rays. In fact radiation you get from a single dental x-ray exposure is only 1/20 of background radiation dose you receive on an average day. Digital x-rays are a safe and effective dental technology.
Handheld X-Ray System
The handheld x-ray system is battery-powered for completely cordless portability. With the handheld x-ray device, we can take accurate, efficient scans with less radiation exposure than most conventional systems. It is comfortable, convenient, and can be used in any treatment room.
Panoramic and Cone Beam Imaging
We have all-in-one cone beam CT machine that is capable of doing both panoramic and 3-D imaging. The machine machine rotates around your entire head to take a 360-degree view of your teeth, sinuses, and the bone structure of your head and jaws in both 2-D and 3-D. This provides a more complete image than standard x-rays. Our CBCT machine is a valuable resource for Dr. Chung Lee to use in diagnosis and treatment planning for procedures like root canal treatment, implants, extraction and bone graft
Photography is a must and integral tool in diagnosis and treatment planning. It is also a great educational tool for patient. Dr. Lee prefers using DSLR camera than a small wand-form intraoral camera due to its ability to take higher resolution photo under correct lighting and its versatility in capturing multiple teeth & smiles in one exposure. We can provide you with a set of beautiful before and after photos for you to see the benefit and the value in service that we provide.
At Praus Dentistry, we use our intra-oral digital scanner to ensure that the impressions we take are accurate, efficient, and comfortable every time.
Impressions are necessary for the fabrication of dental restorations such as crowns and onlays. Our hand-held intra-oral scanner takes 3-dimensional digital video impressions with proven accuracy
Another benefit to you is reduced time. When we send precise digital scans to our lab, clinical data necessary to fabricate your restorations are transferred immediately, cutting down on shipping time. This means you can have your restoration placed and be enjoying the results sooner than with traditional impression methods.
In the past, you may have experienced dental trays that were filled with a soft substance that hardened into an impression of your mouth and teeth. With the intra-oral scanner’s small hand-held wand, we can take accurate digital impressions quickly and easily, without tripping your gag reflex.
Even more, as we complete your scan, you will be able to view the impression on the monitor along with us. This allows you to see more precisely why we have recommended restoration for your oral health needs.
Did you know that there are 26 states written on Lincoln Memorial of $5 bill? And Carolina is one of them! High precision dentistry can benefit from using magnification and light. Dentists often rely on loupes to do their dental work. However, microscope provides whole new level of magnifications with exceptional lighting, enabling the dentist to visualize small details like crack lines, root canal locations, and residual caries. You can be assured that you are receiving enhanced quality of care in endodontic and restorative procedures with Dr. Lee’s expertise and the aid of microscope.
Our office is equipped with modern air abrasion technology known as AquaCare. Unlike conventional air abrasion device, AquaCare utilizes a small handheld device to blow a stream of air and tiny aluminum oxide particles with water, preventing fine powders from spraying everywhere. This can be used to safely and painlessly remove plaque and stains without use of scalers. Air abrasion is also used as a part of a cosmetic or restorative treatment to prepare a tooth for bonding or to repair cracked or worn teeth.
